12-10-10 - Jerry Crook lost his best friend and wife, Robbie, last night after long battle with cancer. You may recall Robbie & Jerry's generosity in fronting all the drink and snacks in the Hospitality Room for the last two reunions. Jerry's email is [email protected] and his cell phone 901-818-2600.  Arrangements (unconfirmed) may be scheduled for Tuesday; however, more details should be available soon in the The Commercial Appeal.
Your warm thoughts and prayers are welcome.  Carey D.

11-30-2010 - JULIANNA “Julie” BOWERS passed away peacefully at her home on November 29, 2010 after a long illness. She was 65 years old. She was predeceased by her precious son, Stephen Paul Lightman, Jr. and her adoring husband, Joseph Bowers. She leaves two daughters, Rachel Lightman, a graduate of Vanderbilt University, and Mallory Lightman, a graduate of The University of Alabama, as well as a beloved grandson, Colin Lightman Dopp. She also leaves a brother, Stephen Lang, Sr., of Ormonde Beach, FL. Julie graduated from White Station High School and received a B.A. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and a M.A. in Psychology from The University of Memphis where she graduated with honors. She was a sustaining member of the Le Bonheur Club and Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Association. Although Julie took up tennis later in life, she went on to become a very proficient player. She was a former Memphis City 35 Singles Tennis Champion and Racquet Club Singles Champion. Eventually, she derived great pleasure helping children with special needs learn to play tennis, the sport that had bought her such joy throughout her life. Julie and Joe were Chairmen of Twilight Golf at Chickasaw Country Club where they were also members of the month. Along with golfing together, they also enjoyed spending time at their home away from home at Horseshoe Lake. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choosing. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Park Tuesday, November 30, at 2p.m. with a service immediately following at 3 p.m. Entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. People are welcome to come back to Julie’s home afterwards to share stories and enjoy photos that help tell the story of Julie’s life. 08-08-2010 - Harte is on his road to recovery and strength! Yes!  Carey Dowdle

7-29-2010 Harte Thomas showed a blood clot in his superior mesenteric vein----a very important vein that takes blood to the sm. intestine.  After driving 8.5 hours to get there on Friday they had him hooked up to everything by the time I got there.    He is home and doing great now.  He is on blood thinners and some antibiotics but hopefully they are doing the job.  We go back to one of the doctors today.  Prayers are welcome as this is a very serious condition.  We pray that the medication will work and the clot will go away. Patty

7-27-2010  We need pics for the 10th and 20th reunion if you have any please send them in.
